Men have always enjoyed gathering around a blazing fire especially during the cooler seasons of the year. Whether it is to share hunting and fishing adventure stories or just make “small talk”, the secret of the F.I.R.E. is found in CSF’s emphasis on Fellowship with Purpose.

Men across the United States have commented over the years to our CSF staff members the fundamental need for finding true friends who enjoy a similar passion for the great outdoors, a place where men drop their professional façade and become real with each other. The bonds that develop can last for a lifetime. Just as music can serve as the window to the soul, the roaring flames of a FIRESIDE gives men permission to be themselves, even allowing God to speak to the depths of a man’s soul.

Christian Sportsmen's Fellowship has promoted the simple acrostic “F.I.R.E.” as a descriptive term to help men to remain focused on the reason for God’s gift found displayed in the beauty of His outdoors creation … the abundant variety of wildlife, picturesque landscapes, the sunrise and sunset, mountain scenes, foliage of the changing leaves each season, etc.

“How can anyone, especially the sportsman, observe the beauty of God’s creation and not want to know the one who spoke such creation into existence?”

God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20

The letters in the word “FIRE” stand for:

● Friends through Fellowship
● Interest around Common Goals
● Relationships that are Built to Last
● Evangelize as God Opens the Door

Christian sportsmen often seek out opportunities to find Fellowship with Purpose.
As men desire to mature in the Christian faith it becomes increasingly apparent that God gives each of us many opportunities every day to make new friends then develop those friendships into life long relationships. God’s Spirit then communicates the message of His love, forgiveness and provision.

A person will inevitably become just like the kind of people that he hangs out with on a regular basis. Or better stated, “We become like the people we are around”. Now you know the secret of the F.I.R.E.!
