I'm all swapped out from some of the other forums I frequent. Always looking for a good conversation.
You're the gent from Maine, aren't you?
Are you in to "mousin" after dark? If so, check out the Low Rider on my site. www.wolverineflyfishingjournal.com
Is anybody else out there??

That's me the gent from Maine......aka Aroostookflier.....or Aroostookbasser as I am better known in the blogging world. Not to be confused with C. marley who handles the marketing for CSF......he's a really good friend. Lives in same town and is co-founder of our local chapter of CSF. We started here a few years ago.
Love to mouse for browns.........
I tye a really mean looking deer hair rat that our Meduxnekeag River browns love.

Mousin' Pattern
aroost . . . remember that low rider mouse pattern on www.wolverineflyfishingjournal.com? This past winter, I re-designed it with an articulated tandem hook. The rear hook is a whopping 2/0. I'm looking forward to swinging it this summer.
On a different note: I'm planning on hitting the Great Lakes "surf" hard this spring. I've never done that, but heard of others having great success fly fishing for hungry spring browns, lakers and steelhead. If I "figure it out" I'll post my method and lessons learned on WFFJ.
What's your specialty up in Maine, fly fishing-wise? Do you have any Coaster Brook Trout? Steelhead? What's the hot ticket first thing in the spring?
Regards. Larry

I'll have to check out that pattern buddy.
Up here we are distinctly brookie fishers...some lakers trolled up on streamers in the spring via canoe. Little bass here and there. we do get some sea run brookies and browns in the Kennebec and penobscot rivers. Salmon are our sea species of note......tougher than steel head.
The real challenge in our surf........Bluefish and Stripers!!!!!!
